Stacy Pineo Hurt is a Chambersburg native and graduated from CASHS in 1990. Ms. Hurt attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994. Ms. Hurt moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1995 prior to the 1996 Olympic Games, and attended Georgia State University College of Law in downtown Atlanta, graduating cum laude in 2000.
Ms. Hurt began her legal career by working for a Superior Court Judge and an Appellate Court Judge in Atlanta while still in law school. She worked as a law clerk and later as an associate with a mid-sized law firm in Atlanta's Buckhead district. Ms. Hurt also worked at two other small firms in Atlanta over the past several years, gaining experience in many areas of the law, including business law, commercial and residential real estate and related civil litigation as well as family law and estate planning.
Ms. Hurt has successfully represented a diverse set of clients, including homeowners, small business owners and individuals in all manner of transactional and litigation matters, including business start-ups, real property and business purchases, property disputes, trademarking, license agreements, retail leases, landlord-tenant disputes, divorce settlements, as well as will and trust drafting.
Ms. Hurt decided to return to her hometown to be closer to her family and opened a practice in Chambersburg in June 2007. Ms. Hurt's general civil practice is designed to serve the growing local community, and concentrates on wills, trusts and estates, probate matters, real estate, and business law. Ms. Hurt hopes to thereby serve both the personal and professional needs of her clients.
Ms. Hurt is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Maine. She is a member of the Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce and the Franklin County Bar.
